Dr. Graham’s interest in health and nutrition began long before she became a physician. Growing up, hermother believed strongly in nutrition and prevention, sparking an early curiosity about the factors thatinfluence health.

Before becoming a naturopathic physician, Dr. Graham spent more than 35 years as a registered nurse, much of that time in critical care, emergency medicine, and flight nursing. Those years gave hertremendous respect for conventional medicine, particularly its ability to respond to acute and life-threatening illness.

They also led her to ask a different kind of question:

Why do some people become chronically ill, and what might we be missing when we focus primarily on the diagnosis or symptoms?

That question eventually led Dr. Graham to naturopathic medicine. She earned her Doctor of NaturopathicMedicine degree from the University of Bridgeport and pursued additional education in functionalmedicine, clinical nutrition, and environmental medicine, including a year-long environmental medicinetraining program with Walter Crinnion, ND.

Environmental medicine remains a particular interest. When a patient’s history suggests it may be relevant,Dr. Graham considers factors such as mold and water-damaged buildings, chemicals, heavy metals,occupational exposures, and other aspects of a person’s environment that may be affecting health.

Today, she brings both sides of her background to patient care—the clinical experience gained throughdecades in conventional healthcare and the broader investigative perspective of naturopathic, functional,and environmental medicine.

She believes one of the most important things a physician can do is listen. A patient’s symptoms have ahistory, and sometimes a seemingly small detail provides an important clue.

Her goal is to listen, investigate, explain what she finds, and work with each patient toward better health.
